At TAS Mania Embroidery, we believe custom embroidery should feel simple, professional, and stress-free. Whether you need embroidered uniforms for your business, custom fire department jackets, EMS apparel, hats, patches, or branded corporate clothing, our process is designed to make your ideas come to life with precision and care.
From the moment you send us your logo to the final stitched product, we focus on quality, communication, and attention to detail every step of the way.
Here’s how our embroidery process works.
Step 1: Send Us Your Design or Logo
Every embroidery project begins with your artwork.
Customers can send image files directly to us by email at:
We accept:
JPG files
PNG files
Whether you already have a professional company logo, a department badge, a custom patch design, or even a simple concept image, we can begin the process from there.
Many of our Portland customers send us:
Business logos for uniforms
Fire department insignias
EMS designs
Police department artwork
Team logos
Custom patch concepts
Hat and apparel branding designs
If your artwork needs adjustments or cleanup before embroidery, we can help prepare it properly for stitching.
Step 2: Your Artwork Is Digitized Into an Embroidery File
Once we receive your image, the next step is called digitizing.
Digitizing is the process of converting your artwork into a specialized stitch file that embroidery machines can read. This file acts as a blueprint for the embroidery machine, telling it:
Where every stitch should go
Which thread colors to use
The direction of the stitching
The stitch density and texture
How the final embroidered design will appear on the garment
This is one of the most important parts of the embroidery process because high-quality digitizing creates cleaner lines, smoother lettering, and more professional results.
At TAS Mania Embroidery, we carefully prepare each design to ensure it stitches cleanly and looks sharp on everything from jackets and polos to hats and custom patches.
Step 3: Pricing Is Calculated by Stitch Count
Our embroidery pricing is straightforward and transparent.
Pricing starts at $2 per 1,000 stitches.
The total stitch count depends on several factors, including:
The size of the design
The level of detail
The amount of text in the logo
The number of thread colors used
The placement location on the garment
For example, a small left-chest logo may use significantly fewer stitches than a large back design on a jacket.
Before production begins, we provide an estimate so customers understand the expected cost and scope of the project.
Our goal is to provide affordable, high-quality embroidery services for businesses, departments, teams, and individuals throughout Portland and surrounding communities.
Step 4: The Stitch File Is Loaded Into Our 15-Needle Embroidery Machine
After digitizing is complete, the embroidery file is loaded into our professional 15-needle embroidery machine.
This advanced machine allows us to produce detailed, multi-color embroidery with excellent consistency and accuracy. Each needle holds a different thread color, allowing the machine to automatically switch colors during the stitching process.
Using professional-grade embroidery equipment helps us create:
Crisp lettering
Detailed logos
Smooth stitching
Clean edges
Durable embroidered designs
This process is especially important for complex department logos, custom patches, and multi-color corporate branding projects.
Step 5: Thread Colors Are Carefully Selected and Loaded
Once the machine is prepared, we carefully select the thread colors that best match your design.
Thread color selection plays a major role in the final appearance of the embroidery. We work to closely match:
Company brand colors
Department colors
Team colors
Specialty logo details
Whether the project involves bold firefighter jacket lettering, polished corporate polos, or custom embroidered hats, choosing the right thread colors helps create a clean and professional final product.
Our goal is always to make your design stand out while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Step 6: We Complete a Test Stitch for Approval
Before moving into full production, we complete a test stitch of the design.
This allows us to inspect:
Stitch quality
Design clarity
Thread color accuracy
Placement alignment
Overall appearance on the garment
The test stitch helps ensure the embroidery looks exactly the way it should before final production begins.
At TAS Mania Embroidery, we believe quality control matters. Taking the time to test each design helps us deliver embroidery that customers can confidently wear, represent, and promote.
Step 7: Final Adjustments Can Still Be Made
One of the advantages of working with a local embroidery company is the ability to make adjustments before the final run begins.
After reviewing the test stitch, customers can still request changes if needed. This may include:
Adjusting thread colors
Resizing the design
Repositioning embroidery placement
Editing text
Making minor artwork refinements
We work closely with every customer to ensure the finished product meets their expectations before production is finalized.
This attention to detail is one of the reasons businesses, first responders, teams, and organizations across Portland continue to trust TAS Mania Embroidery.
